Position Overview:
As the User Privacy Manager at SayPro, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage user privacy preferences related to location tracking, ensuring full compliance with privacy laws and offering users control over their data. You will implement an opt-in/opt-out mechanism to empower users to manage their location tracking preferences effectively within the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 framework, under the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR. This mechanism is designed to enable users to make informed decisions regarding geolocation tracking for the purpose of providing localized ads.
This position directly supports SayPro’s mission to maintain the highest standards of privacy protection while enhancing user experience through relevant, location-based advertisements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement User Privacy Preferences System:
- Develop a user-friendly, intuitive opt-in/opt-out mechanism for managing location tracking preferences.
- Ensure the mechanism allows users to actively control whether their location is used to provide localized ads or if they wish to disable this feature.
- Provide clear options within the SayPro platform to allow users to update their preferences easily.
- Location Tracking Management:
- Oversee the geolocation detection system that automatically detects user locations, ensuring it aligns with user preferences and privacy settings.
- Regularly test the location tracking feature to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the detection process while respecting user choices.
- Maintain transparency with users about what data is being collected, how it is used, and the benefits of location tracking for better ad targeting.
- Compliance with Privacy Regulations:
- Stay up-to-date with global privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.) to ensure SayPro’s location tracking and privacy policies are compliant.
- Work closely with the legal team to review and update SayPro’s privacy policy as needed, ensuring users are fully informed of their rights and how their data is handled.
- Conduct regular privacy audits and address any potential privacy risks related to user data collection.
- User Education and Communication:
- Develop easy-to-understand resources and FAQs to educate users on the importance of location tracking and how they can manage their preferences.
- Provide proactive notifications or prompts within the platform to encourage users to update their privacy settings regularly.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure users are informed about privacy options when they first interact with the platform.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track the usage of the opt-in/opt-out mechanism, gathering insights on user behavior and preferences.
- Report regularly to the SayPro Classified Office on the effectiveness of the user privacy management system, providing suggestions for improvements.
- Analyze data to understand how location tracking preferences influence the success of localized advertising and user satisfaction.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Work with the SayPro Marketing team to integrate the privacy preferences mechanism seamlessly into the broader marketing strategy, ensuring that location tracking and advertising comply with user preferences.
- Collaborate with the SayPro Development team to ensure technical implementations of location-based features are fully compatible with privacy settings.
- Liaise with external vendors and partners to ensure privacy compliance with any third-party tools or services used for location-based ad targeting.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Privacy Law, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. - Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in privacy management, with a focus on user data protection and geolocation services.
- Experience implementing opt-in/opt-out systems or user privacy mechanisms within digital platforms.
- Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and other international data privacy regulations.
- Knowledge of location-based services, including geolocation tracking and data analytics for marketing.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of privacy policies and user consent mechanisms.
- Ability to design user-friendly privacy tools and interfaces.
- Excellent communication and educational skills for user outreach.
- Analytical skills to track and report on the effectiveness of privacy features.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple privacy-related projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Privacy Management (e.g., CIPP, CIPM).
- Experience in advertising technology or localized advertising.
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles for implementing privacy-related features.
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, and other data tracking/management platforms.
