Position Overview:

The Location Data Manager is a crucial role within the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 team. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and oversee the accuracy and flexibility of the location database for SayPro Monthly Classifieds. The role will involve ensuring that location data is up-to-date and integrated in a way that enables customized location targeting for ads submitted to the platform, including cities, districts, postal codes, and custom user-defined locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Location Data Management:
    • Maintain the accuracy and consistency of the location database, ensuring that it reflects the most current geographic information available.
    • Update and enrich location data for cities, districts, postal codes, and custom locations, ensuring users can choose from a broad range of targeting options when submitting their ads.
    • Ensure the database structure allows for easy access, integration, and usage of location data in the SayPro Classified platform.
  2. Custom Location Targeting:
    • Develop and refine features that allow users to specify custom locations for their ads, providing a personalized ad submission experience.
    • Work with the technical team to ensure the custom location functionality is well-integrated into the ad submission process, offering flexibility for users in targeting specific geographic areas.
  3. Location Data Integration:
    • Ensure that the location data integrates seamlessly with other components of SayPro Monthly Classifieds, such as categories, filters, and search functionality.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and IT teams to ensure the accuracy of location targeting, ensuring that users’ ads appear in the correct geographic regions.
  4. Location Targeting Performance:
    • Monitor the performance of location targeting within the system, identifying any issues or inaccuracies in the data that could impact ad visibility or user experience.
    • Work to resolve any discrepancies between the location data in the database and the way it is displayed or targeted within the ad system.
  5. Collaboration with Marketing Team:
    • Support SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR in analyzing location-based trends to optimize ad placements and targeting strategies.
    • Provide insights based on location data to assist in the creation of location-based marketing campaigns, ensuring maximum impact.
  6. User Experience:
    • Act as a point of contact for users who experience issues with location-related features on the platform.
    • Address user feedback regarding location data accuracy and custom location features, ensuring continuous improvement of the system.
  7. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed documentation on the location database structure, custom location options, and any updates or changes made to the system.
    • Provide regular reports on the accuracy and utilization of location data, offering recommendations for improvements based on observed trends and user needs.
  8. Quality Control & Testing:
    • Conduct regular audits of location data to ensure its integrity and accuracy, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
    • Test new updates to the location database and location-based features to ensure they are functioning properly before launch.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Data Management, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in managing location-based data, preferably in a classified ad, e-commerce, or marketing platform environment.
    • Familiarity with location-based targeting and custom user input features in digital platforms.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of data management systems, databases, and geographic information systems (GIS).
    • Proficiency in tools used for data analysis and visualization.
    • Basic understanding of web development concepts for collaborating with technical teams.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in managing large datasets and ensuring data accuracy.
