Job Title: Classified Ad URL Optimization Specialist

Department: SayPro Classified Office

Reports To: SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR

Location: Remote or SayPro Headquarters


Position Summary:

As a Classified Ad URL Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for creating new, clean, and descriptive URLs for all new ad listings within the SayPro classified ads platform. The primary goal is to ensure that the URLs follow a consistent naming convention, making them user-friendly, SEO-friendly, and optimized for search engines. You will collaborate with the SayPro Marketing and Classified Office teams to ensure that all URLs are both descriptive and aligned with best practices for URL structure, enhancing user experience and improving organic search performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create Clean and Descriptive URLs:
    • Develop and implement new, clear, and concise URLs for all new classified ad listings.
    • Ensure URLs include relevant keywords, such as category names, location details, and other pertinent information.
    • Avoid unnecessary parameters, numbers, or symbols that can clutter URLs and reduce their clarity.
    • Ensure that URLs are readable, simple, and easy for users and search engines to understand.
  2. Consistency in URL Structure:
    • Follow a strict naming convention for URLs that is consistent across all new ad listings.
    • Create a systematic structure that integrates category names, location details, and other relevant attributes.
    • For example, URLs should be formatted as: www.sayproclassifieds.com/category-name/location-name/ad-title.
  3. SEO Optimization:
    • Work with the SEO team to incorporate relevant keywords into URLs for better search engine optimization.
    • Ensure that URLs are keyword-rich, yet natural, avoiding keyword stuffing or overly complicated structures.
    • Collaborate with the SEO team to regularly update the URL strategy to align with evolving search engine algorithms and trends.
  4. Quality Assurance and Testing:
    • Regularly review and test newly created URLs to ensure they are functioning correctly and are free of broken links or redirects.
    • Monitor the performance of ad URLs in terms of click-through rates (CTR) and search engine rankings.
    • Troubleshoot any issues with URL structure, making adjustments to improve URL effectiveness.
  5. Collaboration with the Marketing Team:
    • Work closely with the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR to ensure URLs align with broader marketing strategies and campaigns.
    • Collaborate with the SayPro Classified Office to ensure that URL changes or optimizations are properly implemented and aligned with the site’s overall content structure.
  6. Maintain User-Friendly URLs:
    • Ensure that URLs are intuitive and easily understood by users, leading to an enhanced user experience.
    • Avoid overly complex or long URLs, ensuring they are short, meaningful, and descriptive.
    • Make sure that URLs maintain clarity even as new ad categories or locations are added to the platform.
  7. Monitor and Analyze Performance:
    • Track the performance of newly created URLs to ensure they are driving traffic and improving ad visibility.
    • Use analytics tools to analyze URL performance, looking for trends or opportunities for optimization.
    • Regularly report on URL performance, providing insights into user engagement, SEO rankings, and click-through rates.
  8. Adherence to Best Practices and Guidelines:
    • Ensure all created URLs comply with internal best practices, SEO guidelines, and privacy standards.
    • Stay up-to-date with changes in URL structuring best practices, SEO requirements, and web development trends.
    • Regularly audit and refine URL structures based on performance data and industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in SEO, web development, or a similar role focused on URL creation, content optimization, or digital marketing.
    • Experience working with classified ad platforms or e-commerce websites is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of SEO principles, including URL structure, keyword optimization, and page indexing.
    • Familiarity with URL best practices and web development languages (HTML, CSS, etc.).
    • Proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or other performance tracking tools.
    • Ability to use SEO and web development tools to test, implement, and track URL performance.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of clean and efficient URL creation, including category-based naming conventions and location details.
    • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla, etc.) and URL customization features.
    • Basic understanding of website structure and how URL optimization impacts overall site performance.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Excellent attention to detail in reviewing URLs for accuracy and consistency.
    • Ability to catch and fix issues with broken links, redirects, or improperly structured URLs.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with other departments (marketing, SEO, IT).
    • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Classified Platforms:
    • Familiarity with classified ads websites and their specific URL structures, content categorization, and user-generated content.
  • Advanced SEO Knowledge:
    • Understanding of advanced SEO techniques and their relationship to URL structure and search engine ranking.
  • Analytics and Reporting:
    • Ability to analyze and interpret performance data to improve URL strategies and overall website performance.

The success of this role will be measured by the following:

  • 100% implementation of clean, descriptive, and consistent URLs for all new classified ad listings by the end of the quarter.
