Job Title: Mobile Optimization and Touchscreen Usability Specialist

Overview:
The Mobile Optimization and Touchscreen Usability Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the SayPro Classified platform operates at peak performance, particularly for mobile users. This role will focus on enhancing the mobile page load speeds, optimizing for varying network conditions, and ensuring the platform’s interface is intuitive and touch-friendly. The goal is to deliver a seamless user experience across all mobile devices, regardless of network speed or device specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mobile Page Load Speed Optimization:
- Speed Audits: Regularly conduct performance audits to identify page load speed bottlenecks, especially for the classified section, and implement strategies to improve loading times on mobile devices.
- Network Conditions Optimization: Ensure that the classified section loads efficiently across various network conditions (Wi-Fi, 4G, and 3G). Optimize media, scripts, and images to adjust dynamically based on the type of connection.
- Core Web Vitals: Maintain and enhance the Core Web Vitals (e.g., Largest Contentful Paint, First Input Delay, Cumulative Layout Shift) to meet or exceed Google’s standards for mobile optimization.
2. Touchscreen Usability Enhancements:
- User Interface (UI) Review: Conduct regular reviews of the mobile platform’s user interface to ensure that it is optimized for touch interactions. This includes improving touch targets, eliminating obstacles to navigation, and ensuring that all buttons, links, and form fields are easily tappable.
- Mobile-Friendly Features: Continuously work with the development team to introduce features that are optimized for touchscreen devices, such as swipe gestures, responsive forms, and touch-friendly navigation elements.
- Cross-Device Compatibility: Ensure that touch interactions are smooth across a wide range of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, and test on both iOS and Android platforms for seamless functionality.
3. Performance Monitoring:
- Real-Time Monitoring: Set up tools for continuous monitoring of mobile site performance, specifically focusing on the classified section. Track performance metrics in real-time to detect and fix any slowdowns or issues before they affect users.
- Network Speed Testing: Work with network speed testing tools to simulate user conditions in varying network environments (3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi) to identify any specific issues that impact mobile users.
4. User Experience (UX) Improvement:
- Mobile User Feedback: Collect feedback from mobile users on their experience using the classified section, specifically regarding speed, touch interactions, and navigation. Use this data to propose and implement improvements.
- Heatmaps & Analytics: Use tools like heatmaps, Google Analytics, and user session recordings to analyze how users interact with the classified section on mobile devices. Identify areas where users may be struggling and propose design and functionality improvements to increase usability and performance.
5. Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with the SayPro Classified Office development team to ensure that performance and usability goals are met during the development cycle of new features or updates.
- Monthly Reporting: Provide monthly reports on mobile optimization performance, including detailed insights on speed improvements, user engagement metrics, and any identified touchscreen usability challenges. These reports will be shared with SayPro Marketing and SCMR teams.
6. Compliance with Marketing Guidelines:
- Marketing Standards Adherence: Ensure that the classified section’s mobile optimization aligns with SayPro’s marketing standards, ensuring a consistent, fast, and user-friendly experience for all visitors.
- Mobile-first Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure mobile-first strategies are implemented in advertising campaigns, ensuring that classified ads are fully optimized for mobile viewing and interaction.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mobile optimization and usability testing, preferably in e-commerce or classified platforms.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in front-end web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
- Tools: Experience with mobile performance testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest, GTmetrix), user experience analytics tools (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg), and mobile testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Network Knowledge: Strong understanding of mobile networks (3G, 4G, Wi-Fi) and their impact on web performance. Ability to optimize content for various bandwidths.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks and usability issues quickly.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams, especially with developers, marketing, and UX teams.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering the highest quality mobile experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Mobile App Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications in mobile optimization (e.g., Google Mobile Web Specialist, Google Analytics) are a plus.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Mobile Load Time: Target to reduce mobile page load time to under 3 seconds.
- Touchscreen Usability: Achieve a mobile usability score of at least 90% in user testing and feedback surveys.
- Network Optimization: Ensure the platform functions smoothly across Wi-Fi, 4G, and 3G networks, with a focus on maintaining performance during periods of high traffic.
- User Engagement: Increase user engagement metrics (e.g., session duration, interaction rate) by optimizing mobile usability and performance.
