Role: Compliance and Legal Liaison for Classified Ads

Overview:
The role is responsible for ensuring that classified ads on the SayPro platform comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. This position involves close communication with the legal team to stay up-to-date on changing regulations and proactively address any compliance gaps related to classified ads.

This task is aligned with the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 SayPro Quarterly Classified Security and Data Protection Management, managed by the SayPro Classified Office under SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR.


Key Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Maintain Close Communication with the Legal Team

Objective: Ensure that all classified ads posted on SayPro comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Regular Meetings and Check-ins:
    • Schedule and attend regular meetings with the legal team to review changes in laws and regulations related to classified ads.
    • Keep an open line of communication with legal experts to address any queries related to the content of ads, ensuring legal requirements are met at all stages.
  • Compliance Updates and Training:
    • Collaborate with the legal team to stay informed of any new or upcoming regulations.
    • Help organize internal workshops or training sessions on legal compliance related to classified ads for SayPro staff.
    • Ensure that the marketing and content teams are aware of regulatory changes that impact the ad posting process.
  • Legal Document Management:
    • Ensure all legal documents related to classified ad policies, agreements, and terms of service are up to date and stored securely.
    • Facilitate the timely review and approval of ad content by the legal team.

2. Ensure Classified Ads Meet Legal and Regulatory Requirements

Objective: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws related to classified ads.

  • Regulatory Review and Monitoring:
    • Monitor classified ads for potential compliance issues, such as prohibited content (e.g., illegal items, discriminatory language).
    • Implement regular audits of posted ads to verify their compliance with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with the content moderation team to remove or flag ads that may violate legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Address Legal Concerns:
    • Work with the legal team to resolve any flagged or potential violations promptly.
    • Provide guidance to the content team on how to handle classified ads that might raise legal or ethical concerns (e.g., misleading or deceptive content).
  • Content Review and Approval Process:
    • Develop a clear workflow for submitting classified ads to the legal team for review before being published.
    • Ensure that the legal team’s feedback is incorporated into the final ad posting.
    • Review ads flagged by the system or users and collaborate with the legal team to determine if they meet compliance standards.

3. Ensure Compliance with Data Protection and Privacy Laws

Objective: Safeguard user data and classified ad information in accordance with privacy regulations.

  • Collaboration with Data Protection Team:
    • Work closely with SayPro’s data protection team to ensure classified ads comply with privacy laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and others that may apply.
    • Ensure that classified ad users’ personal information (e.g., contact details, location) is securely handled and protected during the ad posting process.
  • Audit and Track User Consent:
    • Ensure that proper user consent is obtained for the collection, processing, and display of personal data associated with classified ads.
    • Implement procedures for tracking and managing user consent preferences for classified ad data.
  • Privacy Policy Updates:
    • Work with the legal and data protection teams to regularly update privacy policies related to classified ads.
    • Ensure that users are informed about how their data is used and stored in compliance with applicable laws.

4. Collaborate on Creating and Updating SayPro Policies for Classified Ads

Objective: Create and maintain comprehensive ad-related policies that ensure compliance.

  • Policy Creation and Revision:
    • Develop and regularly update SayPro’s internal policies regarding classified ads, ensuring they align with legal requirements.
    • Coordinate with legal experts to draft, review, and refine policies related to ad content, posting procedures, and user interactions.
  • Policy Distribution and Enforcement:
    • Ensure policies are effectively communicated to all relevant teams (marketing, content moderation, customer service).
    • Monitor policy enforcement to ensure compliance at all stages of the ad lifecycle.
    • Establish procedures for handling policy violations or breaches of compliance.

5. Report on Compliance Status and Address Issues

Objective: Keep management and the legal team informed about compliance activities.

  • Regular Compliance Reporting:
    • Generate monthly or quarterly reports on the compliance status of classified ads, highlighting potential risks, trends, or legal challenges.
    • Ensure that all regulatory and legal issues are promptly reported to the legal team for timely resolution.
  • Incident Management:
    • Develop a protocol for managing any compliance-related incidents (e.g., user complaints, legal disputes).
    • Work with the legal team to assess the severity of incidents and suggest corrective actions.

6. Stay Informed About Changes in Regulations

Objective: Continuously adapt to changing legal landscapes.

  • Legal and Regulatory Research:
    • Keep up to date with any changes to laws and regulations affecting classified ads.
    • Provide guidance to the legal team on anticipated legal changes and their potential impact on SayPro.
  • External Legal Consultations:
    • Seek external legal advice, as necessary, to ensure SayPro is not at risk of non-compliance with evolving laws.
    • Maintain relationships with legal advisors to ensure quick and accurate advice when needed.
