Job Description
The Classified Location-Based Search feature is a key enhancement aimed at improving user experience on the SayPro platform by enabling users to search and filter classifieds based on their geographic location. This will allow users to easily find ads that are relevant to their area, thereby enhancing engagement and the overall functionality of the classified ads section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Location-Based Search:
- Design and develop a robust location-based search system that allows users to filter ads based on specific geographic parameters, such as city, region, or proximity.
- Ensure integration with the platform’s existing search engine and database to accurately filter ads based on location.
- User Interface and Experience (UI/UX):
- Ensure the feature is mobile-friendly, with responsive design that adapts seamlessly across various devices (smartphones, tablets, desktops, etc.).
- Implement intuitive UI elements for users to easily input location parameters, such as:
- A location search box that allows users to type in or select their area (e.g., city or zip code).
- A map integration or dropdowns for filtering results based on distance or predefined areas.
- Easy-to-use sorting options, such as “near me” or “within 10 miles”, to improve the user experience.
- Cross-Device Compatibility:
- Ensure the search feature works seamlessly across all devices by adopting responsive design techniques and conducting thorough testing.
- Ensure the feature functions effectively across various browsers and devices (iOS, Android, Windows, etc.).
- Geolocation Integration:
- Implement geolocation APIs that allow users to automatically detect and use their current location as a search filter option (e.g., “Find ads near me”).
- Provide an option to manually enter a location if users choose not to use automatic geolocation.
- Performance Optimization:
- Ensure the location-based search operates with minimal latency, providing quick results even when large volumes of data are being processed.

Collaboration with Other Teams:
- SayPro Marketing: To ensure the feature aligns with marketing goals, including promoting local ads and increasing user engagement in specific regions.
- SayPro Classified Office: For aligning the feature with the overall classified ads system, ensuring all geographic data is synchronized correctly.
- SayPro Royalty SCMR: For ensuring any location-specific advertisements or premium ads are adequately promoted in the search results, leveraging user location for better targeting.
