Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this task is to ensure that geo-coordinates (longitude and latitude) are accurately linked to each listing in the SayPro Classified system, specifically within the context of the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 initiative. This initiative focuses on enabling a Location-Based Search feature that allows users to search and filter listings based on geographic locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Geo-Coordinate Accuracy and Integration:
    • Ensure that each classified ad in the SayPro system is assigned precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). This can be achieved through integration with GPS data or by utilizing map-based tools to obtain location data.
    • Verify that these geo-coordinates are properly stored and associated with each listing within the SayPro database.
  2. System Configuration for Location-Based Search:
    • Configure the SayPro Monthly Monthly Classified Location-Based Search system to utilize the geo-coordinates for searching and filtering listings based on proximity.
    • Implement a filter mechanism that allows users to search for listings within a specified distance from their location, using latitude and longitude as reference points.
    • Ensure that users can enter their geographic location manually or use an auto-detection feature based on their device’s GPS or IP address.
  3. Enhance User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX):
