Overview:
The SSL Integration Specialist is responsible for ensuring the security and encryption of SayPro’s classified platform through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. The role involves the implementation, monitoring, and renewal of SSL certificates to ensure secure data transmission across all classified portals under SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR. The specialist ensures that all web pages default to HTTPS and comply with cybersecurity best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. SSL Implementation & Configuration
- Deploy SSL certificates for secure data encryption on all SayPro Classified web properties.
- Ensure the website defaults to HTTPS and enforce HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security) to prevent unencrypted access.
- Implement wildcard or multi-domain SSL certificates as necessary to secure subdomains.
- Work with domain registrars and hosting providers to ensure proper certificate installation.
2. Security Compliance & Best Practices
- Conduct routine security audits to verify SSL encryption is functioning correctly.
- Maintain TLS version control and enforce secure cipher suites for optimal encryption strength.
- Ensure SayPro Classified follows industry standards (PCI-DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001) for data protection.
- Prevent man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks and phishing risks by enforcing SSL integrity.
3. SSL Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Set up SSL monitoring tools to track certificate expiration dates and renew SSLs proactively.
- Diagnose HTTPS errors, mixed-content issues, and misconfigurations that might affect security.
- Address browser compatibility issues and ensure seamless access to SayPro Classified platforms.
- Work closely with the SayPro IT & Security Team to mitigate risks related to SSL implementation.
4. Integration with Marketing & Classified Operations
- Support SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR initiatives by ensuring SSL encryption for marketing pages, classified ad submissions, and payment gateways.
- Ensure email servers and APIs used in classified operations are secured with SSL/TLS encryption.
- Collaborate with web developers to ensure SSL works with SayPro’s classified themes and plugins.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain SSL implementation logs, tracking certificate issuances, renewals, and security updates.
- Generate monthly reports detailing SSL status, security improvements, and incident responses.
- Document SSL security policies and configurations to guide future IT security practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SSL/TLS protocols, OpenSSL, and Certificate Authority (CA) procedures.
- Experience with Apache, Nginx, Microsoft IIS, and cloud-based SSL implementations.
- Knowledge of encryption algorithms, public key infrastructure (PKI), and HTTPS security.
- Familiarity with SSL monitoring tools like Qualys SSL Labs, DigiCert SSL Checker, or Let’s Encrypt Certbot.
- Experience securing classified ads platforms, e-commerce, or SaaS environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot SSL handshake failures, mixed content warnings, and browser SSL errors.
