Position Title: Mobile Usability Tester

Job Overview:

The Mobile Usability Tester will be responsible for identifying and fixing issues related to mobile usability on the SayPro Classified Ads site. The key objective is to ensure the site’s mobile version is fully functional, user-friendly, and responsive, providing a seamless experience for users across all mobile devices. The tester will work under the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR to enhance the mobile accessibility of classified ads.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Mobile Usability:
    • Conduct comprehensive usability tests across various mobile devices (iOS, Android, tablets) and browsers to identify mobile-specific issues.
    • Ensure that all site pages are fully responsive, adjusting seamlessly to different screen sizes, resolutions, and orientations.
    • Test the layout, functionality, and flow of the classified ads site to ensure a consistent user experience across devices.
  2. Identify Mobile Usability Issues:
    • Detect and document issues such as broken links, unresponsive buttons, image display problems, misaligned text, and improper scaling of content on mobile screens.
    • Focus on ensuring all interactive elements (buttons, forms, dropdowns) work correctly without freezing, crashing, or experiencing delays.
  3. Collaborate with Development Team:
    • Work closely with the development and design teams to report issues and recommend solutions for better mobile responsiveness.
    • Collaborate on fixing layout problems and ensuring mobile optimization aligns with the company’s branding and user interface guidelines.
  4. Debug and Fix Mobile Issues:
    • Use debugging tools (such as Chrome DevTools, Firefox Developer Tools) to inspect and troubleshoot mobile issues related to site performance, user interaction, and rendering.
    • Verify fixes and ensure that changes do not affect the overall site functionality, focusing on mobile devices first.
  5. Track and Report Issues:
    • Document issues, providing detailed reports on defects, including steps to reproduce the problem, screenshots, and recommended fixes.
    • Keep track of issues and their resolution status in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Asana).
  6. Optimize Mobile Experience:
    • Suggest improvements to enhance the site’s mobile usability, ensuring faster load times, smooth navigation, and optimized media for mobile screens.
    • Test the impact of mobile optimizations on overall site speed and performance.
  7. Stay Updated on Mobile Trends:
    • Stay current with the latest mobile web trends, device advancements, and usability best practices.
    • Apply knowledge of mobile-first design and responsive web principles to ensure continuous improvement in mobile accessibility.
  8. Quality Assurance Testing:
    • Perform additional rounds of testing to ensure fixes do not introduce new usability issues.
    • Conduct regression testing to ensure the site’s overall functionality remains intact across all devices.
  9. Maintain Documentation:
    • Create detailed, up-to-date documentation of test cases, findings, and solutions for future reference.
    • Help maintain a knowledge base of recurring issues and solutions to streamline future mobile usability testing efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in testing mobile usability, responsive web design, or quality assurance.
    • Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles and responsive web design techniques.
    • Familiarity with common mobile usability issues and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using mobile testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, TestFlight, Google Lighthouse).
    • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and common mobile-specific web technologies.
    • Experience in using debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools, Firefox Developer Tools.
    • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to document and communicate issues clearly.
    • Ability to think critically and analyze user behavior for mobile optimization.
