Job Purpose:
The Mobile Usability Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that SayPro’s digital classifieds platforms deliver optimal user experience on mobile devices. This includes conducting thorough testing across different browsers and devices, evaluating user interface design for touchscreen accessibility, and ensuring seamless, touch-friendly interactions. The specialist will contribute directly to enhancing mobile engagement and satisfaction as part of the SayPro Monthly March SCMR-5 initiative and broader SayPro Monthly Classified efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cross-Browser and Device Testing
- Conduct thorough usability testing across multiple browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Opera) and operating systems (iOS, Android).
- Test functionality on various screen sizes (smartphones, tablets, phablets) to ensure responsive design integrity.
- Document and report inconsistencies in layout, features, or responsiveness.
- Validate compatibility across mobile platforms, including both native and hybrid views of SayPro Monthly Classified listings.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to resolve identified issues for uniform usability across all platforms.
2. Touchscreen Usability Optimization
- Evaluate and improve the touch interface of SayPro Classified platforms to support intuitive, finger-friendly navigation.
- Recommend changes to button sizes, link spacing, and interactive elements to comply with touch accessibility standards.
- Ensure UI/UX elements follow SayPro’s mobile-first design principles.
- Review user behavior data (tap heatmaps, scroll tracking) to optimize usability features.
- Work closely with the SayPro Classified Office and design teams to implement improvements based on real user testing scenarios.
3. User-Centered Mobile Design Analysis
- Analyze user feedback and usability testing results to identify mobile pain points.
- Create wireframes and recommendations for improved mobile workflows.
- Stay updated on current mobile UX/UI trends and implement best practices tailored to SayPro platforms.
4. Project Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare monthly reports highlighting mobile usability improvements and challenges as part of the SCMR-5 monitoring.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all test cases, scenarios, and resolutions.
- Support the SayPro Marketing Royalty division with actionable insights for future updates and platform rollouts.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mobile UX principles and mobile-first responsive design.
- Proficiency in cross-browser testing tools (BrowserStack, LambdaTest, etc.).
- Experience with mobile usability testing tools and user behavior analytics (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg, Google Analytics).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and mobile UI frameworks is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), UX/UI Design, Mobile App Development, or related fields.
- 2+ years of professional experience in mobile usability testing or mobile UX design.
- Demonstrated experience working on classified platforms or mobile marketplace applications is preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Mobile bounce rate improvement.
- Reduction in user complaints related to mobile navigation.
- Increase in successful mobile classified submissions.
- Time-to-resolution for identified usability issues.
- Consistency of experience across devices and browsers.
Work Environment:
This role may require both on-site collaboration at the SayPro Classified Office and remote usability testing. Flexibility to test across different time zones/devices is important.
