By the Chief Legal Officer- Neftaly Malatjie
Good morning to our respected teachers, SayPro colleagues, partners, and guests,
It is both a pleasure and a privilege to address you today on this important occasionâTeacher Appreciation Day 2025. As SayProâs Chief Legal Officer, I usually speak in the language of regulations, compliance, policy, and governance. But today, I speak the universal language of gratitude.
Today, we step away from our titles, our departments, and our day-to-day tasks to shine a spotlight on those whose work forms the foundation of everything we doâour teachers.
Teachers are the guardians of truth, knowledge, and critical thinking. In a world of shifting information and constant change, it is youâour educatorsâwho help learners discern fact from fiction, right from wrong, and law from opinion. In many ways, you embody the spirit of justice itself: you are fair, intentional, and deeply committed to the development of others.
At SayPro, our mission is rooted in empowerment. But that empowerment cannot happen without educationâand education cannot happen without you. You are the quiet defenders of equity, providing every learnerâregardless of their backgroundâwith a fair and fighting chance to succeed.
Your classroomsâwhether virtual or physicalâare places where laws of learning are practiced daily:
- You uphold the right to question.
- You protect the dignity of every student.
- You enforce the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance.
- And you do it not out of obligation, but out of beliefâin people, in change, and in a better future.
On behalf of the Legal and Compliance Division of SayPro, I thank you not only for teaching curricula, but for teaching character. For standing as role models of ethical leadership. For nurturing a generation that will not only be educatedâbut just, compassionate, and courageous.
Let us not forget: while laws may shape nations, it is teachers who shape generations.
As we celebrate you today, please know this:
We are committed to protecting your rights, advocating for your dignity, and ensuring that your role in society is respectedâboth in principle and in practice.
You deserve more than recognition; you deserve lasting support, fair policies, and the security to thrive in your work.
So hereâs to youâour everyday champions, our silent advocates, our changemakers.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Day 2025.
We see you. We value you. We thank you.
