By Chief Legal Officer- Neftaly Malatjie
Good [morning/afternoon], colleagues, partners, and friends of SayPro,
It is both a privilege and a personal honor to stand before you today as we gather to celebrate an occasion that transcends borders, cultures, and roles — Mother’s Day.
At SayPro, we speak often of leadership, of integrity, of accountability — qualities we strive to uphold in our daily work. But if we reflect for a moment, many of those very principles were first instilled in us not in boardrooms or classrooms, but around kitchen tables, in quiet moments of care, through lessons modeled by the women who raised us, supported us, and believed in us — our mothers.
As Chief Legal Officer, I am charged with ensuring that our values are reflected not only in our contracts and compliance, but also in our culture. And I believe today offers a profound opportunity to reaffirm our respect and gratitude for the women — both in our lives and across our organization — who nurture, advocate, and lead with strength, wisdom, and compassion.
Let us recognize the many forms that motherhood takes: birth mothers, adoptive mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, mentors, and caregivers. Let us honor the working mothers among us who balance conference calls with bedtime stories, and court filings with parent-teacher meetings. Your resilience is not just admirable — it is foundational to the strength of SayPro.
I would also like to acknowledge those for whom this day is tender — those who have lost mothers, those longing to become mothers, and those navigating motherhood’s many complexities. Your stories are part of the rich human tapestry that shapes our understanding and empathy as an organization.
So today, let’s not simply commemorate — let’s commit. Let us commit to building a workplace where women are empowered, where parental support is tangible, where flexibility and dignity go hand in hand. Let’s continue to champion policies that allow both women and men to thrive in their dual roles as professionals and caregivers.
To all the mothers — and to all who mother — thank you. Thank you for your fierce advocacy, your boundless patience, and your unwavering strength.
You are the quiet architects of our future — and today, we raise our voices in gratitude.
Happy Mother’s Day.
Thank you.
