    Duration: Full-time, Project-Based
    Start Date: January, 2025

    Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mobile User Interface Designer to enhance the SayPro Classifieds platform by implementing swipe gestures and mobile-specific features. The successful candidate will be responsible for adjusting the design and layout to improve accessibility, ensuring that the content is responsive and adapts seamlessly to various screen orientations (portrait and landscape). This role is key to delivering a touch-friendly interface, ensuring users on mobile devices have a seamless and intuitive experience.

The candidate will work closely with the SayPro Marketing and Classified Office teams to integrate user-friendly, responsive, and optimized features that enhance user interaction with the SayPro Classifieds platform. This is part of the larger SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 project focusing on Touchscreen Usability for mobile users under the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR initiative.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Design and Layout Optimization
      • Responsive Design: Adjust the current design and layout to ensure it adapts fluidly to different screen sizes and orientations (portrait and landscape).
      • Mobile-Friendly Interface: Modify the user interface (UI) for touchscreen use, ensuring that it is optimized for mobile users without compromising content visibility or interaction ease.
      • Accessibility Focus: Implement features that enhance accessibility for all users, including those with visual impairments or mobility challenges. Make sure that the design accommodates screen readers, larger font sizes, and simple navigation.
    2. Swipe Gesture Implementation
      • Develop and Integrate Swipe Gestures: Create swipe gestures for navigating through ads, categories, and other important sections of the site. This may include swipe-based scrolling, item selection, or browsing through photos.
      • Test and Iterate: Conduct user testing to ensure that swipe gestures are intuitive and respond accurately. Make necessary adjustments based on user feedback and analytics.
      • Seamless Integration: Ensure that swipe gestures are implemented in a way that seamlessly integrates into the existing mobile UI/UX, providing a natural feel for users interacting with the platform.
    3. Touchscreen Usability
      • Ensure Touch Responsiveness: Optimize the layout so all interactive elements (buttons, sliders, forms) are touch-friendly. This includes making clickable areas large enough for comfortable interaction and ensuring responsiveness to touch gestures.
      • Error Prevention: Implement touch-optimized controls that reduce user errors, such as large buttons for easy selection and easy-to-access navigation.
      • Feedback Mechanism: Incorporate subtle visual feedback (like button highlights) to confirm user actions, such as taps or swipes, for a more intuitive experience.
    4. Content Adaptation for Screen Orientation
      • Responsive Content Display: Ensure that content, images, and buttons adjust to the screen orientation—whether portrait or landscape—without breaking the design or causing unnecessary scrolling.
      • Multi-Device Support: Ensure that the mobile interface works effectively across various devices (smartphones, tablets) with different resolutions and screen sizes.
      • Test Across Platforms: Conduct cross-device and cross-platform testing to ensure that the layout and gestures work as expected on Android and iOS devices.
    5. Collaboration and Communication
      • Work with Development Teams: Collaborate with mobile developers to ensure the integration of swipe gestures and mobile-specific features is smooth and bug-free.
      • Collaborate with Marketing Teams: Work closely with the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR team to align the user interface design with the overall branding and user engagement strategies for the SayPro Classifieds platform.
    6. Continuous Improvement and Updates
      • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of swipe gestures and mobile-specific features after release, using analytics tools to track user engagement and satisfaction.
      • Ongoing Refinement: Use feedback and data to continuously refine the design and features, keeping the platform fresh, user-friendly, and optimized for mobile users.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Proven Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mobile UI/UX design, specifically for touchscreen interfaces and responsive layouts.
    • Proficiency in Mobile Design Tools: Expertise in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools.
    • Knowledge of Mobile Development: Familiarity with front-end web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, etc.) is a plus.
    • Experience in Gesture-based Design: Demonstrated ability to design and implement swipe gestures and other mobile-specific interactive features.
    • User-Centered Design Focus: Deep understanding of accessibility standards and mobile-first design principles.
    • Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and marketing teams.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify problems with mobile usability and implement appropriate solutions.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Mobile Analytics: Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, or other mobile analytics platforms to track user behavior.
    • Experience in Classified Platforms: Previous work experience on classified ad platforms or e-commerce sites that involve user-generated content.
