Job Summary:
The Touchscreen Usability Tester plays a crucial role in the optimization process of SayPro Classifieds’ mobile and touchscreen interfaces. After improvements are made to the classified section, this position will conduct usability tests with real users to ensure that the interface is optimized for touchscreen interactions. This role directly supports the SayPro Monthly January SCMR-5 initiative, which focuses on improving user experience (UX) for mobile users accessing the SayPro Classifieds platform via touchscreens.
The primary responsibility of this position is to assess and validate the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of the user interface on mobile devices, ensuring it is both intuitive and seamless for users. The tester will work closely with the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR team and the SayPro Classified Office to implement and monitor the changes based on real-user feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post-Optimization Testing:
- Conduct detailed usability tests with real users after improvements are made to the classified section.
- Focus specifically on touchscreen interfaces for mobile users, assessing touch sensitivity, gesture recognition, and general navigation fluidity.
- Perform tests on various mobile devices to ensure broad compatibility across different screen sizes, operating systems, and browsers.
- Ensure that the updated features are fully optimized for touchscreen devices (smartphones and tablets).
- User Interaction Analysis:
- Observe and document user interactions during testing sessions.
- Measure key usability metrics such as time to task completion, user error rates, and user satisfaction levels.
- Capture qualitative feedback regarding the ease of navigation, readability, and overall user experience.
- User Feedback Collection:
- Conduct surveys and interviews with users post-test to gain deeper insights into their experience.
- Identify pain points or areas where users struggle with touchscreen functionality.
- Provide actionable feedback to the development and design teams based on test results.
- Collaboration with Development Teams:
- Work closely with the development and design teams to ensure identified issues are addressed in subsequent updates.
- Provide detailed reports on testing outcomes and areas for improvement.
- Assist in refining and retesting areas that fail to meet usability standards.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Compile test results, feedback, and data into concise, clear reports.
- Document all testing processes, methodologies, and findings.
- Submit findings to the SayPro Marketing Royalty SCMR team, with recommendations for further optimization if needed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up to date with trends and best practices in mobile touchscreen usability.
- Suggest potential areas for improvement or enhancement, keeping the mobile user experience at the forefront of the development process.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure usability remains a priority in all future platform updates.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in usability testing, with a focus on mobile platforms and touchscreen devices.
- Background in UX/UI design, usability research, or software testing is highly preferred.
- Experience with usability testing tools and software (e.g., UserTesting, Hotjar, Maze, Lookback.io) is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mobile platform standards, touchscreen gestures, and common user behavior.
- Ability to think critically and analytically about user interfaces and experiences.
