Job Summary: As a Web Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the SayPro Classified website, particularly the January SCMR-5 updates, provides a fast, responsive, and user-friendly experience across all devices, with an emphasis on mobile and touchscreen usability. Your primary tasks will include optimizing the website for speed and responsiveness, reducing load times for images, ads, and other media elements, and improving touch functionality for mobile users. The role will also require collaborating closely with the marketing and development teams to maintain the highest quality of user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Optimize Website Speed and Responsiveness
- Page Load Time Optimization: Utilize modern web technologies, such as image compression, lazy loading, and code minification, to reduce page load times. Ensure quick browsing and seamless navigation on both desktop and mobile devices.
- Media Optimization: Analyze and optimize media elements, including images, videos, ads, and other resources, ensuring they load quickly without sacrificing quality. Implement responsive images (using
srcset
), and optimize media file formats to improve overall performance. - Cross-Device Responsiveness: Ensure that the SayPro Classified platform works flawlessly across various screen sizes and devices, from desktop to mobile phones and tablets. Perform thorough testing on multiple browsers to confirm compatibility and performance consistency.
- Server-Side Optimization: Collaborate with the server and back-end team to optimize server response times, database queries, and API calls that impact load times and overall speed.
2. Improve Mobile and Touchscreen Usability
- Touch-Friendly Interface: Ensure that the SayPro Classified interface is optimized for touch interactions on mobile devices and touchscreens. This includes increasing button sizes, improving scrolling behavior, and ensuring easy-to-tap navigation elements.
- Mobile-Specific Features: Integrate mobile-specific features, such as adaptive layouts, mobile-optimized navigation, and one-click call-to-action buttons, to enhance the mobile browsing experience.
- Testing and Usability Studies: Regularly conduct usability tests on mobile and touchscreen devices to identify pain points in the user interface. Implement enhancements based on user feedback and test results.
- Interaction Smoothness: Optimize animations and interactions on touch devices to ensure smooth transitions, reducing any lag or delays in touch response.
3. Collaboration and Reporting
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the SayPro Marketing team to align the web optimization strategies with marketing objectives, especially those related to ad placements, monthly updates, and user engagement for the January SCMR-5 release.
- Performance Monitoring: Use tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, or WebPageTest to monitor page performance and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analytics Integration: Integrate performance metrics into analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, custom dashboards) to track user behavior, engagement, and website performance.
4. Content Delivery and User Experience (UX)
